We often make mistake and regret later. Same is the case in travelling and the hacks here will surely make you better backpacker than before. From packing clothes, never missing flights to charging your electronics everything can be found here. Here I am sharing some genius hacks that will save your time, money, effort and of course will be helpful for your next trip.
- Roll up your clothes:
We often iron our clothes and are concerned about them after packing. But I suggest rolling them up so that they will be wrinkle-free and will save you lots of space. Also, make a combination of your clothes so that you don’t need to carry so many of them.
- Don’t spend your money on water:
Rules are strict at many places so carry an empty bottle to the airport and when you are done with your security check-in you can fill water from there itself.
- Turn on the incognito window for cheaper flights:
Airlines sites can track your visit to sites by installing cookies. Making your flight slight costly than they are because you searched for it earlier. So it is advised to avoid it by using the incognito window to save your money.
- Charge your electronics through a laptop or tv:
Many times we forget or lose our charger. In such a case you can charge it by using your laptop. So that you can retain some battery on the go.
- Buy a power bank:
If ever your phone has a long battery life, don’t risk it. Carry a power bank with you so that you can use it if you overuse your mobile.
- Email a copy of the document to yourself:
Keep a copy of documents like passport, tickets etc with you or simply mail the soft copy to yourself. So that if you lost your document there is a backup. If you have booked you train, bus, flight tickets on your mobile then take a screenshot of it just in case you need it.
- Mark your bag as fragile:
This one is a little odd but it works. By tagging, you can identify your bag but by marking it fragile you can get your bag quickly and it will not be placed under a pile of the bag. So thank me later for this one.
- Use ATMs or Cash Machine for local currency:
Take only limited cash and not excess money. Use ATM where it can be used and if not use the money. Don’t flash your money as there are high chances of pickpocketing.
- Only unpack when there is a need:
When you visit a place for the short span of time then don’t unpack all of your stuff. Keep a bag handy with essentials and that will all you need. Unpacking and packing can consume a whole lot of time and there are chances you can miss some items.
- Put your rechargeable batteries in the Fridge:
It is quite odd but this is a proven trick and you need to try it. It is seen that about 90% of your battery is retained and it is quite a hack to collect more photos on your vacation.
- Buy a dummy wallet to confuse pickpocketers:
Pickpocketers are usually found on tourist spots so be careful with your purse. To fool them you can carry dummy wallet so that you will remain safe.
- Use straws to store liquids like shampoo etc:
It is a DIY kind of thing. Instead of carrying big bottles you can use straws and it can be used and throw. You can use it for toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, oil, body lotions and also for cosmetics. It reduces space and is less messy.
- Check out from the hotel in the morning:
Check out from the hotel in the morning, roam around the city and leave at night. You just saved time and money for an extra day.
- Buy Souvenir from the local market:
Instead of opting to big stores you can find many varieties of souvenier in the local market and in less price depending on bargaining skills.
